Twenty atrophic maxillary sinuses were augmented with rhPDGF-BB with alloplast and bovine xenograft using direct approach. CBCT was taken at the baseline, immediate, 6-months and 30 months post-operatively. Histological evaluation revealed the bone bridging and bone regenerative efficacy of the graft material. On radiographic evaluation, ridge-height (H) and volume of graft (V) at baseline (H0) 3.02 ± 1.35 mm, immediate post-operative (H1, V1) 15.18 ± 2.52 mm, 1,106.10 ± 398.84 mm3, 6-months (H2,V2) 14.79 ± 2.30 mm, 1,086.95 ± 396.86 mm3 and 30-months post-operative (V3) 1058 ± 391.83 mm3 respectively with a significant gain in the residual ridge height over 6-months and no significant loss or gain in sinus volume post-operatively.
